My friend works at a swanky country club. A member owns a Vanquish. He parked it hundreds of feet away in the very corner of the lot. ALLLLLLLLLLLLL by itself. One of the kitchen staff thought it looked lonely out there. Look, everyone obeyed the lines.

It’s the car. My white Escort likes to park next to exotics, too.
One time somebody actually came out of the store just to move it away from me. I’ve been hoping to come across him again so I can park even closer next time.

Like a lone P-51 seeking out an errant B-17 over Dresden, the Escort earns its name. Now no other door-dinging douchebags can park next to the Vanquish. Win.

When that beater is a Jalop’s car, it’s kind of like getting a parking lot bodyguard.

Many moons ago, I worked at a similar fancy country club. I always found the disparity between the help and the members rides to be pretty stark. Although at the time I didn’t think much of it. I was just happy to have a ride.

For parking next to cars in a parking lot?

yes. he purposely parked away from assholes who like to door ding. you know this. you still chose to purposely park next to him far away from the front of the building. there were plenty of better closer spots but you chose the one out in the middle of nowhere for no discernible reason. you might think your protecting him but all your doing is giving him un needed stress when he sees a beater who presumably parked next to him to be an asshole and say Ha fucker thought you had this all to yourself? think again dick!

Or I like to see my car next to another cool car and take a picture of them together?
Out of sheer curiosity, have you read the rules of Oppo?

Same thing happens to me wherever I park my F12. It's like these morons are intentionally trying to make me mad.

look you drive a shitbox. that’s ok but understand the aston owner isn’t going to think o wow another enthusiast has parked next to my car! no hes gonna think godamnit this fucker is an asshole. then hell spend 10 minutes inspecting his car for dings. I know this because my dad parked far away in his Miata and currently parks far away in his corvette. both cars have gotten dings and both cars seem to attract some dick who decides to not let him have his peace and privacy. please for all of our sake stop parking next to nice cars. I know you doint ding them but the nice car owner doesn’t. its just uneeded stress in his life and a really immature thing to do when there are much better spots closer to the store for you to use.

If you’re going to be that paranoid about your car, don’t daily drive it. That’s his problem, not mine.
Besides, my “shitbox” is in extremely good condition and I like to keep it that way by parking near the back. I still cannot comprehend how parking next to a more expensive car is immature just because mine is older and cheaper. That doesn’t make it a beater, nor does it make it worthless.

hmm so now driving a car automatically makes it a daily driver? if you park in the boonies you can help prevent door dings. if you avoid potholes you can help prevent alignment/wheel tire issues. if you park out of the sun you help protect your paint. these are all preventative measures to help your car stay in nice good condition. you are negating him parking in the boonies. you have just opened the door(full pun intended) to door dings. you know what he is doing and why he is parked there but thought to yourself nope not gonna happen today sucker. this is immature. if he wants to be alone let him be alone. If you didn’t know why he wanted to be alone I explained it so please see things from his perspective and consider what hes gonna think when he sees your car. go find your own secluded spot don’t park next to him unless absolutely forced to. its shocking I need to explain this to someone who claims to care about his car and want it free of dings.

You’re still assuming I do it out of spite. There’s no reason I can’t let my car make a friend. If he thinks I hit him with my door, he can easily find out otherwise by just looking at the side of his car before leaving.

Again, if that ruins his day, that’s his problem. Pretty big overreaction to just having a car parked next to you, but whatever.

Maybe the escort driver felt he is protecting the beautiful Vanquish. As long as there is no passenger in the escort all is safe.

But most times it’s not a Jalop car but rather someone who couldn’t give a fuck about their car or anyone elses. :-/

Having read through your comments in this thread, a couple of quick things to share:
1) The first rule of Oppositelock, as well as the second rule of Oppositelock, is this: Don’t be a dick. Making a reply consisting of nothing but the words “youre an asshole,” without any other context or an attempt to rationally explain why you think he was in the wring, qualifies as being a dick.
2) If you’re going to be a dick, at the very least make sure your grammar, spelling, and punctuation are correct. Seriously, it was three words. You’re telling me you couldn’t put in the necessary effort to type three words correctly?
3) Take a chill pill and relax. If you disagree with him, that’s fine. Explain your position. I understand that you apparently are very passionate about this particular topic, but that doesn’t give you justification for repeatedly insulting someone and being a general asshole.
Straighten up and fly right. Continue poor behavior and I will ban you.

As a recovering Escort owner, I would move my car too. I wouldn’t want it to catch any of that Mazda B-platform malaise.
